The content of a mechanical engineering job
As a mechanical engineer, you design, specify, and deliver mechanical systems and components. You work with established and modern CAD software to ensure technically sound and manufacturable designs that comply with CE directives (European safety, health and environmental regulations for machinery and related systems).
You carry out simulations and validations, prepare technical product documentation, and are involved in change management processes. Within your project, you collaborate closely with colleagues from disciplines such as software, electronics, and/or manufacturing. Together, you deliver a fully functioning solution that aligns with your client's objectives. In that sense, you are a true mechanical engineer: deeply knowledgeable in technology and hands-on in execution. These are exactly the kinds of people we welcome in the TMC community.
What do we expect from you in a mechanical engineering job?
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks
- Familiarity with CE directives, production processes and automation technologies
- Knowledge of DFM, GD&T and design principles
- Independence, a solution-oriented mindset, and strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in both Dutch and English communication
