About this vacancy
As a Technical Manager, you are responsible for the technical execution of complex projects in wet infrastructure. These projects combine mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and industrial automation. You ensure that technical solutions not only meet the project objectives but are also practical, manageable, and future-proof.
You guide the technical process from design to realization, working closely with specialists from various disciplines. Drawing from your expertise, you bring structure to complex challenges, focus on quality, and contribute to the development of reliable infrastructure that is essential for the accessibility and safety of the Netherlands.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and overseeing the technical trajectory from design to realization.
- Translating functional requirements and project objectives into feasible and well-thought-out technical solutions.
- Leading and connecting multidisciplinary teams consisting of mechanical, electrical, and industrial automation specialists.
- Acting as the technical point of contact for clients and internal project teams.
- Drafting technical quality and safety documentation, including plans for technical management and design safety.
- Monitoring progress, quality, and costs during the engineering and design process.
- Reviewing technical designs, specifications, and project documentation.
- Providing advice on technical procurement issues and boundary conditions.
- Involving execution and production at an early stage to assess feasibility, risks, and optimizations.
What we expect from you
You know how to combine technical expertise with coordination and collaboration. With your analytical skills, you maintain an overview in complex environments and connect disciplines, people, and interests.
- You have a higher vocational education (HBO) or university degree (WO) in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering;
- You have demonstrable experience with multidisciplinary projects within the infrastructure or industrial sector;
- You feel at home in projects involving bridges, locks, and pumping stations;
- You have worked according to systems engineering and are familiar with the division of roles within IPM teams;
- You have experience with integrated contract forms such as UAV-GC or comparable Design & Construct contracts.
