About this vacancy
As a Water Manager at TMC, you will work with water boards, municipalities, and consulting and engineering firms in the southern Netherlands. You will engage in diverse projects related to urban water, water systems, climate adaptation, and water safety. You will be involved in both policy-oriented and operational challenges. You act as a substantive advisor and discussion partner for clients and stakeholders. Depending on the project, your responsibilities may include analyses, planning, providing advice, or supervising implementation. Thanks to TMC's open and transparent secondment model, you will work long-term with clients that match your expertise while continuing to develop yourself as a professional. ### Your responsibilities include: - Managing and optimizing urban and regional water systems - Advising on water safety, flooding, and drought - Contributing to climate adaptation and sustainability projects - Drafting and reviewing water management plans - Conducting and assessing hydrological analyses - Coordinating with municipalities, water boards, and other stakeholders - Guiding projects from initiation to execution - Evaluating plans against laws, regulations, and policies
What we expect from you
To be successful as a Water Manager, you should possess:
- Proficiency in the Dutch language at C1/C2 level
- A completed higher professional education (HBO) or university degree (WO) in Civil Engineering, Water Management, or a related field
- Relevant work experience in water management or water systems
- Knowledge of hydrology, urban water, and water safety
- Analytical skills and a structured working approach
- Strong communication skills
- Administrative sensitivity
- A proactive and solution-oriented attitude
