System Architect Automation

About this vacancy

As a (Sr.) Software Architect you'll be working with our clients on the architecture, design and integration of software and electrical components for a variety of different machines.

Some of the tasks you'll be performing:

• Defining and maintaining end-to-end system and software architectures across multiple projects, with a focus on scalability, reuse, and long-term maintainability;
• Guiding development teams and project leads with clear architectural direction, balancing short-term project needs with long-term strategy;
• Aligning technical solutions with business, customer, and market requirements in close collaboration with commercial and product stakeholders;
• Establishing clear system structures, components, and interfaces to ensure smooth integration and efficient delivery;
• Delivering sound architectural designs based on appropriate technologies and well-considered trade-offs;
• Ensuring high-quality, up-to-date architecture documentation and taking ownership of overall solution and product quality.

What we expect from you

• Bachelor or Master in a technical field such as Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Industrial Automation or similar;
• Several years of experience in software development, preferably in manufacturing process automation or test equipment development (TIA Portal, TwinCAT);
• Experience as Software Architect for several years; Fluent in English, preferably Dutch as well;
• Willingness to travel internationally if necessary;
• Experience with different programming languages like C++/C# is a plus.
