Senior Project Leader Civil Engineering

About this vacancy

You are ultimately responsible for civil engineering projects, a large part of which revolves around pipeline work for drinking water and sewage systems. Additionally, you work on projects where multiple technical disciplines converge. You are involved from the tendering and design phase all the way through execution and delivery. You oversee quality, safety, planning, and budget, but your vision extends beyond the current project. You invest in relationships with clients and partners, expand your network, and identify opportunities for new work.

Equally important is the team around you. You provide direction and confidence to project managers, planners, and site managers, coach them in their development, and ensure that knowledge is shared within the team.

Specifically:

• you manage civil engineering projects from tendering and design to delivery;
• you lead project managers, planners, and site managers;
• you coach colleagues and help them grow further;
• you monitor quality, safety, planning, and finances;
• you serve as the point of contact for clients and project partners;
• you work on your network and identify new opportunities;
• you collaborate with colleagues from other technical disciplines;
• you contribute to the growth and development of activities in the region.

You work from a regional office and are frequently found at project locations in the area. The work focuses, among other things, on drinking water, wastewater, and other aspects of the water cycle: projects that directly contribute to people's living environments.

The lines between design, preparation, and execution are short. This allows you to act quickly and truly influence how a project is approached. You have ample freedom to shape your role, including the opportunity to build a team and work entrepreneurially.

What we expect from you

You are an experienced project leader who is both results-oriented and people-focused. You see the big picture, are able to make decisions, and feel at ease communicating with clients. Additionally:

• you have a technical education at HBO level, preferably in civil engineering or a similar field;
• you have several years of experience as a project leader in civil engineering or infrastructure, preferably in the water sector;
• you have experience managing and developing a team;
• you have commercial insight and enjoy building relationships and seizing opportunities;
• you are able to simultaneously oversee technical aspects, planning, and finances;
• you have excellent command of the Dutch language in both spoken and written form;
