Are you an experienced Chemical Engineer or Process Technologist who thrives on designing and optimizing complex industrial processes? Do you want to be at the forefront of new production installations, process improvements, and innovative factory concepts? Then we are looking for you.
As a Senior Chemical Engineer, you work on challenging projects within the process industry. You translate client questions and technical challenges into smart, safe, and efficient process designs. You are involved in everything from initial feasibility studies and conceptual designs to preparation for detailed engineering. What will you do? In this role, you will be responsible for developing process concepts and technical solutions for industrial installations.
Your tasks include:
• Developing conceptual process designs for new installations and expansions.
• Preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Conducting mass and energy balances.
• Defining and selecting process equipment such as:
o Pumps
o Heat exchangers
o Valves
o Reactors
o Storage tanks
o Compressors
• Preparing process specifications and equipment datasheets.
• Performing process calculations and simulations.
• Identifying safety and operational risks (HAZOP, LOPA).
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and clients.
• Providing technical support during FEED and detailed engineering phases.
What we expect from you
What do you bring?
• A completed HBO or WO degree in Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Process Technology.
• At least 5 years of experience in the process industry, for example in chemistry, energy, food, pharmaceuticals, or petrochemicals.
• Experience with conceptual design, process engineering, and specifying process equipment.
• Knowledge of industrial standards and regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and a pragmatic mindset.
• Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
