About this vacancy
Are you passionate about developing innovative sensing technologies and working at the intersection of chemistry, materials science, and applied research? We are looking for a Researcher to join an international R&D team for a 6-month temporary assignment, providing cover during a sabbatical leave. In this role, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of next-generation optical sensing technologies, with a particular focus on fluorescence-based sensor applications. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to explore novel materials, chemistries, and sensor concepts in a dynamic research environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize materials and chemistries for fluorescence-based sensing applications.
- Design, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments, documenting findings and translating results into actionable insights.
- Investigate innovative approaches in areas such as dye immobilization, surface functionalization, polymer chemistry, and hydrogel materials.
- Characterize materials and evaluate sensor performance using a variety of analytical and spectroscopic techniques.
- Collaborate closely with specialists in chemistry, materials science, and sensor technology, as well as external research partners.
- Contribute to project planning, technical discussions, and scientific reporting.
- Support and coordinate research activities involving MSc and PhD students and external collaborators.
What we expect from you
- MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in chemistry, including knowledge of organic and inorganic materials.
- Hands-on laboratory experience and enthusiasm for experimental research.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- A practical, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to research and development.
