R&D Laboratory SpecialistKey Responsibilities
As part of the R&D team, you will play a hands-on role in executing and supporting research and development activities across multiple projects. Your responsibilities will include performing experimental work, processing and analyzing data, and reporting results in support of ongoing and future R&D initiatives. These activities may include improving existing products and manufacturing processes, developing and validating analytical methods for current and potential new products, and contributing to the development of novel products and production technologies.
You will support the installation, qualification, operation, and ongoing maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance. In collaboration with team members and, where applicable, under the guidance of senior colleagues, you will support the planning and execution of experimental work and project-related activities.
In addition to experimental work, you will perform operational tasks essential to effective R&D operations, including stock management, preparation of purchase orders for laboratory consumables, chemicals, and equipment, conducting incoming inspections, and maintaining an organized R&D laboratory and warehouse environment.
You will also provide ad hoc R&D support for quality- and compliance-related activities, such as investigations related to Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), deviations, and internal or external audits.
What we expect from you
Education
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. (or equivalent) in Chemistry is preferred; degrees in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields may be considered based on relevant experience.
- With an M.Sc. or equivalent: 2–4 years of laboratory experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- With a B.Sc. or equivalent: 4–6 years of laboratory experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as NMR, SEC, Karl Fischer titration, FT-IR, GC, microscopy, or similar methods, including equipment handling, sample preparation, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Experience:
- Development and validation of analytical methods.
- Polymer chemistry, including synthesis, purification, and characterization of polymers.
- Ability to perform multi-step organic synthesis.
- Full-time availability (40 hours per week), on-site.
- Preferably available to start immediately.
