About this vacancy
As Policy and Permits Advisor at TMC, you will work with diverse clients, including municipalities, provinces, water boards, and consultancy and engineering firms. You will be involved in projects within infrastructure, water, area development, and public spaces, where policy, permits, and laws and regulations play a crucial role. In this role, you will be engaged in projects from the initial planning phase to execution. You advise clients on the feasibility of plans, guide permit processes, and ensure that projects comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Environmental Law. You act as a link between technical project teams, policy departments, and regulatory authorities, carefully balancing various interests. Your tasks may include:
- Providing advice on permit processes within the Environmental Law and related regulations.
- Drafting, reviewing, and managing permit applications (such as environmental permits).
- Contributing to policy documents, memoranda, and implementation plans.
- Aligning with regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and internal project teams.
- Identifying risks and opportunities within laws and regulations.
- Managing projects from planning to execution.
- Advising on procedures, participation, and administrative decision-making.
What we expect from you
To be successful in this role, you possess:
- Proficiency in Dutch at C1/C2 level, both spoken and written.
- A completed higher vocational or academic education, for example in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience with policy processes and/or permitting within government or consultancy practice.
- Knowledge of and affinity with laws and regulations, preferably the Environmental Act.
- An analytical, meticulous, and structured work approach.
- Strong communication skills and political sensitivity.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
