About this vacancy
The role will be responsible for the entire Data Handling subsystem: from requirements definition to design, functional testing, and support for mission operations. The role involves interaction with the Satellite and Avionics teams throughout the development cycle and managing technical exchanges with suppliers. **Main responsibilities:** - Complete design of the Data Handling subsystem for various missions and platforms - Analysis of subsystem specifications - Definition of the Data Handling architecture and data interfaces - Definition of data budgets and selection/configuration of data protocols - Drafting of input specifications for Data Handling units - Participation in procurement: defining Statements of Work, technical meetings, and document reviews - Development support: Design & Development plans, technical coordination, documentation review, and planning support - Support for AIV/AIT activities - Support for unit, subsystem, and system-level testing: test specification definition, test report review, and participation in tests - Support for operations definition and operational activities during the mission.
What we expect from you
- Master's Degree in Electronic/Mechatronic Engineering
- 2–3 years of experience in the space industry
- Knowledge of data interfaces: CAN/CANopen, SpaceWire, SpaceFibre, HSSL, RS‑422
- Knowledge of main data protocols: MIL‑1553, CCSDS Packet, CCSDS/ECSS TM/TC, PUS, CFDP
- Knowledge of ASW architectures for multicore OBC
- Basic knowledge of main AOCS units (magnetometers, magnetotorquers, star trackers, reaction wheels, CMG, solar sensors)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and technical writing skills
- Italian C2, fluent English
What you can expect from us
The position entails a permanent contract, and the offered gross annual salary (RAL) base will not be less than €38,000, in line with the provisions of the CCNL Commercio – Terziario, Distribuzione e Servizi.
TMC is committed to offering a competitive compensation package, and at the end of the selection process, based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, may propose a final RAL above the aforementioned level.
In alignment with our business model, the final compensation package also includes a profit sharing component (direct participation in project profits), an individual budget of €4,000 net per year for skill development, and an annual welfare credit. Additional details will be provided during the selection phase, in compliance with the company's current policies.
