About this vacancy

You will work on advanced industrial systems that integrate automation, machine vision, AI and material-handling technologies. After laboratory preparation and machine testing, you will commission and fine-tune systems at customer plants worldwide, creating material-specific sorting recipes and ensuring the required removal efficiency and output purity. The role offers a long-term technical development path within a multidisciplinary and international industrial environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and test industrial sorting systems in the laboratory and workshop, completing calibration, alignment and functional checks before shipment.
  • Commission machines at customer plants worldwide.
  • Acquire and classify sample images, build and tune sorting recipes, and configure ejection parameters according to material type, particle size, belt flow and plant conditions.
  • Measure and optimize machine performance in terms of contaminant removal efficiency and selected-material purity, iteratively refining recipes on real production flows.
  • Diagnose software, automation, optical, electrical and mechanical issues and provide technical assistance both remotely and on site.
  • Support customers in correct machine operation, cleaning and preventive maintenance to preserve vision-system performance in dusty environments.
  • Contribute to maintaining the installed fleet and commissioning new machines, sharing field feedback with engineering teams.

What we expect from you

  • Bachelor’s degree (or master’s degree) in Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong availability for frequent international travel, accounting for at least 50% of working time.
  • Comfortable working in industrial plants.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI environments, inverter-controlled motors, sensors, actuators and industrial machinery.
  • Interest in image acquisition and processing, RGB/NIR cameras, laser or X-ray sensors, object classification and AI-based vision systems.
  • Ability and willingness to learn proprietary vision, recipe-management and machine-control software quickly.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to integrate software, electrical, optical and mechanical information into practical solutions.
  • Pragmatic, adaptable and result-oriented attitude, with the determination to complete activities and work independently.
  • Professional and assertive customer communication skills, including in demanding operational situations.
  • Good command of Italian and English language, additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to relocate will be considered a plus.
  • Strong motivation to embrace TMC’s Employeneurship model.

What you can expect from us

The position offers a permanent employment contract, and the base gross annual salary (Gross Annual Salary – RAL) will be no less than €30.000, in line with the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for Commerce – Tertiary, Distribution and Services.

TMC is committed to offering a competitive compensation package. At the end of the recruitment process, after assessing the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, the company may offer a final gross annual salary higher than the amount stated above.

In line with our business model, the final compensation package also includes a project profit-sharing component, an individual annual learning and development budget of €4,000 net, and an annual welfare allowance. Further details will be provided during the recruitment process, in accordance with the company's applicable policies.
