About this vacancy
At TMC, you work as an entrepreneurial professional in the high-tech and manufacturing industries. You combine the security of permanent employment with the variety and substantive challenges of consultancy. Through our Employeneurship model, you have the freedom to develop yourself in the direction you choose—whether you're starting as an Operational Buyer, aiming to move up to a tactical level, or ultimately aspiring to strategic responsibilities. You work on projects across diverse sectors such as high-tech equipment, machinery, semicon, energy, automotive, defense, logistics, food, infrastructure, and precision engineering.
You will be part of long-term projects and multidisciplinary teams, where your contribution directly impacts production, engineering, supply chain, and broader business operations. Within TMC, you can join at multiple levels depending on your experience and ambitions:
Operational Buyer (ideal for starters or professionals with 1–3 years of experience):
- Daily ordering, order monitoring, and supplier contact
- Ensuring delivery reliability, up-to-date data, and clear documentation
- Identifying bottlenecks in planning, quality, or inventory management
- Contributing to improvements in procurement and supply chain processes
Tactical Buyer (when you're ready for the next step):
- Negotiating prices, terms, and contracts
- Developing supplier strategies and category plans
- Analyzing spend, risks, and performance indicators
- Collaborating with R&D, planning, production, QA, and project management
Strategic Buyer / Category Manager (for experienced professionals with a helicopter view):
- Drafting long-term sourcing and supply chain strategies
- Selecting, evaluating, and developing strategic suppliers
- Senior-level stakeholder management
- Leading improvement programs and cost reduction initiatives
- Enhancing professionalism within procurement
What we expect from you
- A vocational (MBO), applied sciences (HBO), or academic (WO) degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- An affinity for procurement (operational, tactical, or strategic)
- Strong communication skills and a structured working style
- The drive to continuously develop yourself
- Minimum B2 level Dutch
- Nevi I is a plus!
