The Northeast branch of high-tech consultancy company TMC has officially opened the doors of its new office in Arnhem. TMC Northeast currently employs 200 employeneurs across its offices in Hengelo and Groningen. The goal is to scale up to 500 employees by 2030, with 150 based in Arnhem.

The energy hub of the Netherlands

The decision to expand to Arnhem is a logical next step in TMC’s regional growth. Over the past five years, TMC Northeast has built a strong presence in Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe, and Overijssel. Now, with the increasing demand for technical expertise in Gelderland, the multinational sees it as essential to establish a physical presence in the region. Arnhem plays a key role in the energy transition, with leading companies and research institutions specializing in energy and sustainability. TMC recognizes opportunities to contribute to developments in this sector with its technical specialists in infrastructure and energy. Additionally, the region offers a broad range of opportunities for other technical disciplines, such as Technology & Engineering and Life Sciences.

“Arnhem is the energy hub of the Netherlands. We see a strong demand for highly skilled technical talent in this region,” says Bram Eidhof, Managing Director of TMC Northeast. “With this new office, we can better respond to the needs of both our clients and technical talent in Gelderland.”

Close to emerging talent

With the presence of institutions such as the Arnhem and Nijmegen University of Applied Sciences (HAN), Radboud University, and Wageningen University & Research, Arnhem is ideally positioned to attract technical talent. “Our goal is not only to support businesses but also to be the best employer for technical professionals in the region. Our employeneurship model offers freedom, responsibility, individual profit-sharing, and extensive learning and development opportunities, key aspects that appeal to entrepreneurial engineers,” Eidhof adds.

Global growth and recent investments

TMC’s rapid expansion is not limited to the Northeast region of the Netherlands. Over the past two years, the multinational has opened new offices in Germany, Tunisia, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. The company has also acquired Dutch consultancy firm Mobilee and German companies Guldberg and Personites. In December 2024, Belgian investor Apheon renewed its investment in TMC, and British investment firm MML Capital joined as a new partner. The ambition is to grow to 10,000 employees worldwide by 2032.
