What does an environmental manager in civil engineering do?
The environmental manager we are looking for important clients is involved in civil projects in the broadest sense. You will work on planning, managing, and realizing roads, bridges, locks, cables, pipelines, and/or green spaces. These are complex projects and at the same time exciting, innovative challenges.
In addition, you are a connector, who supports colleagues and teams. To play a meaningful role, an environmental manager must also be highly communicative. He or she is open to intensive collaboration. And that is the path to further growth and to embracing employeneurship!
The tasks of an environmental manager explained
What will you do if you choose TMC? Your role as an environmental manager goes beyond a single job description. Below we briefly explain some tasks by way of illustration:
- Drafting environmental plans: you ensure a complete and professional plan and coordinate the interests of different parties in advance.
- Point of contact for stakeholders: throughout the entire process you speak with stakeholders and maintain relationships with companies, governments, residents, and other involved parties.
- Identifying environmental risks: which factors directly or indirectly affect your project? Based on this, you ensure the right permits and procedures.
- Leading projects: from start to finish you monitor schedules and budgets. You make sure that both internal colleagues and external parties (for example engineering firms and contractors) are working purposefully on the assignment.
In short: you combine technical, organizational, communicative, and financial skills to make every civil project a success. In return, you get the freedoms of an entrepreneur and the security of an employee. More on this later.
