What does a civil contract manager do?
In the civil sector, as a contract manager you are involved in technical projects within construction companies, engineering and consultancy firms, or (local) governments. The focus is on monitoring and compliance with contractually established guidelines and rules. This involves large infrastructure works (roads, bridges, tunnels, locks) as well as smaller local civil projects.
Especially in infrastructure, earthworks, waterworks, and road construction, your tasks as a contract manager go beyond monitoring. You work directly with the engineers, project managers, or lawyers involved and are an indispensable link in completing assignments on time, within budget, and at the required quality.
Competencies and education of civil contract managers
In every contract manager job opening we prefer specialists who have completed a higher professional or university degree in civil engineering, construction, or even industrial engineering and management. It is also an advantage if you have a legal background to effectively apply your expertise in civil contract management.
Clients you will work with assume that you are familiar with, among others, NEVI 1 or 2, UAV, UAV-GC, RAW, and SCB, focused on systematic contract management.

About the salary of a contract manager in civil engineering
The average salary is estimated between 5000 and 6000 euros gross per month. Experience and expertise also play a decisive role. The more skill, independence, and knowledge you bring, the higher the earnings.
