Technical Manager in Netherlands

About this vacancy

As a Technical Manager, you play a key role in the realization of challenging wet infrastructure projects. You are responsible for the technical development of projects in which mechanical constructions (steel), electrical engineering, and industrial automation converge. You ensure that the technical design is not only solid in content but also feasible, manageable, and future-proof. You take the lead in the entire technical process and collaborate closely with specialists from various disciplines. You have ample space to shape the design and engineering process according to your own insights. With your expertise, you directly contribute to reliable and safe infrastructure that keeps the Netherlands accessible and protected. Your tasks include: - Structuring technically complex issues and guiding the process from design to realization; - Translating functional requirements and project objectives into clear and well-thought-out technical solutions; - Coordinating and managing a multidisciplinary team comprising mechanical, electrical, and industrial automation specialists; - Acting as the central point of contact for both clients and internal project teams; - Preparing technical quality and safety documentation, including plans for technical management and design safety; - Monitoring progress, quality, and costs within the design process; - Reviewing technical designs and documentation and ensuring appropriate technical procurement conditions; - Involving execution and production early in the design process and advising on feasibility and optimizations.

What we expect from you

You know how to combine technical content with coordination and collaboration. With your analytical skills, you maintain oversight in complex environments and connect disciplines, people, and interests.

• You have a higher professional education (HBO) or university degree (WO) in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering;
• You have demonstrable experience with multidisciplinary projects within the infrastructure or industrial sector;
• You feel at home in projects related to bridges, locks, and pumping stations;
• You have worked according to systems engineering and are familiar with role allocation within IPM teams;
• You have experience with integrated contract forms such as UAV-GC or comparable Design & Construct contracts.
