Space System Engineer
We are looking for a Space System Engineer to join the Space and Ground Systems Engineering team. The role will be responsible for the technical system consistency of space missions and products (satellites and payloads), covering the entire lifecycle.

About this vacancy
The role requires a strong end-to-end vision system–payload–ground segment, with technical coordination skills and interaction with clients, suppliers, and partners.
Main Responsibilities:
- System design responsibility and ensuring technical consistency of missions and products
- Derivation, consolidation, and management of system and subsystem requirements
- Definition and maintenance of system architectures, functional chains, and interfaces (ICD)
- Contribution to mission analyses and performance budgets (mass, power, data, thermal, link)
- Conducting system trade-offs (architectures, technologies, make-or-buy)
- Preparation of key systems engineering deliverables (CONOPS, requirements, ICD, verification plans)
- Planning and supporting integration, verification, and validation at subsystem and system levels
- Support for anomaly investigation and troubleshooting in orbit
- Technical coordination with suppliers and partners, including documentation and test reviews
- Technical support for bids and proposals (system concepts, WBS, estimates, risks)
- Ensuring compliance with space standards and internal processes (ECSS, CCSDS)
What we expect from you
- Experience as Subsystem Lead or Technical Lead in space projects
- Experience in systems engineering in the space, aerospace, or highly regulated sectors
- Experience with requirements and configuration management tools (DOORS, Jama, Codebeamer, or similar)
- Experience in defining and analyzing performance budgets
- Knowledge of space industry standards and practices (ECSS, CCSDS, NASA)
- Experience in system integration and testing
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools (MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar)
- Knowledge of system interfaces and buses (CAN, SPI, I2C, SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet)
- Understanding of RAMS concepts (a plus)
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
- Native Italian speaker and fluent in English
