Senior Firmware Engineer

The resource will provide support for the development of flight software for the satellite fleet and new spacecraft under design, working in a highly innovative international environment.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the entire software application lifecycle, with a focus on: requirement gathering, development, debugging, and integration with flight hardware.

• Validate functionalities through software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

• Conduct scouting of new technologies in the embedded software field and promote their adoption within the team.

• Support continuous improvement of the group’s processes and methodologies.

• Provide support for AIV (Assembly, Integration, and Verification) activities and flight operations.

What we expect from you

• Native Italian speaker (written and spoken), excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken).
• At least 5 years of experience in the role or related disciplines.
• Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• Experience in embedded software development.
• Experience in embedded programming in any of the C family languages.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as RTEMS or FreeRTOS, and/or operating systems for embedded applications (e.g., Embedded Linux).
• Knowledge of main embedded communication interfaces: USART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, EtherCAT.
• Experience in configuring and using build toolchains (e.g., ANT, WAF, Makefile, Visual Studio, etc.).
• Familiarity with Git.
• Experience with test-driven development methodologies.

What you can expect from us

The position includes a permanent contract, and the minimum gross annual salary (RAL) offered will not be less than €36,000, in line with the provisions of the CCNL Commercio – Terziario, Distribuzione e Servizi.

TMC is committed to offering a competitive remuneration package, and, at the end of the selection process, after evaluating the candidate’s experiences, skills, and qualifications, may propose a final RAL that exceeds the level indicated above.

In accordance with our business model, the final remuneration package also includes a component of direct project profit participation (profit sharing), an individual budget for skills development of €4,000 net per year, and an annual welfare credit. Additional details will be provided during the selection phase, adhering to current company policies.
