Process Technologist Lab & Pilot Scale

As a Senior Process Engineer, you work in an advanced laboratory and pilot environment where you are responsible for the operation, improvement, and safe functioning of experimental installations. You combine process technology knowledge with a hands-on mentality and effectively connect various disciplines. You are responsible for: - Commissioning, maintaining, and optimizing lab-, bench-, and pilot-scale reactor setups. - Troubleshooting complex process and installation issues. - Actively contributing to experimental plans, data analysis, and determining next steps within R&D and pilot projects. - Serving as a technical point of contact and sparring partner for engineers and researchers. - Coordinating changes (MOC) and aligning with contractors, engineers, researchers, and project management. Additionally, you play a key role in safety within the lab and pilot environment. - Drafting, managing, and updating safety documentation such as RI&E's, TRA's, SOP's, and work instructions. - Ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, and internal safety policies. - Initiating and coordinating safety measures, inspections, and mandatory certifications (e.g., NEN 3140, installation and equipment inspections). - Acting as a proactive point of contact for safety-related issues within projects and toward stakeholders.

What we expect from you

This role requires a clearly senior profile. Therefore, we are looking for someone who possesses at least:

• A BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• ≥ 5 years of proven experience as a Process Engineer / Process Technologist in lab, pilot, and/or industrial process environments.
• Extensive experience with:
  • Pilot plants and experimental reactors
  • P&IDs, unit operations, and process optimization
  • Troubleshooting in operational environments
  • Safety studies, RI&Es, and change management (MOC)
• Practical, proven experience with Swagelok / tube fitting systems.
• Experience with LEAN / Six Sigma (Green Belt or equivalent).
• Affinity with or proven experience in safety roles (prevention officer, safety engineer, or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to switch between multidisciplinary roles.
• Proficiency in the Dutch language.
