About this vacancy
We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design, simulate, and optimize complex optical systems for cutting-edge applications within the semiconductor, space, and optics industries. You will collaborate closely with cross‑disciplinary teams to translate advanced system requirements into robust, manufacturable optical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, model, and develop high‑precision optical systems, including imaging systems, illumination modules, and opto‑mechanical components.
· Perform advanced optical modeling using Zemax OpticStudio and CODE V (must-have tools).
· Conduct tolerance analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and performance optimization for high‑accuracy systems.
· Work with mechanical, electrical, and system engineers to ensure seamless integration of optical designs.
· Create comprehensive technical documentation such as design reports, specifications, and test procedures.
· Support prototype development, optical alignment, validation testing, and transition to volume manufacturing.
· Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality component production.
· Investigate emerging trends, materials, and technologies relevant to semiconductor metrology, space optics, and advanced photonics.
What we expect from you
· Minimum 5 years of industry experience in optical design, development, or engineering.
· Expert proficiency in Zemax OpticStudio and CODE V.
· Strong background in geometric and physical optics, imaging systems, illumination design, and optical materials.
· Experience in tolerance analysis, optical metrology, and performance validation.
· Ability to convert complex system requirements into reliable optical system designs.
· Familiarity with opto‑mechanical design principles and collaboration with mechanical teams.
· Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or similar (PhD is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
· Experience with programming or data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python.
· Knowledge of stray‑light analysis tools (LightTools, FRED) is a plus.
· Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as precision polishing, lens molding, and optical coating.
· Industry experience in semiconductor equipment, space instrumentation, high‑precision optics, or photonics.
