About this vacancy
As an Environment Manager in Infrastructure, you are the connecting link between large-scale infrastructure projects and the world outside of them. You understand better than anyone that successful projects are not only about technology but also about the people and the environment where they take place. You ensure that everything runs smoothly, not just on the work floor but also beyond it. You are the public face of the project towards residents, businesses, and other stakeholders. You make sure all parties are involved, remain well-informed, and that any concerns or obstacles are quickly addressed. In your role, you are the expert who not only understands complex environmental issues but embraces them as well. Whether it concerns managing environmental impact, aligning interests, or comprehending legal and environmental aspects, you know what is happening and respond effectively on all levels. You make a difference by ensuring clear communication, carefully aligning expectations, and creating support for the projects. You safeguard the balance between project progress and environmental interests—always with a focus on the long term. You ensure that environmental aspects are seen not as obstacles, but as opportunities for collaboration. You coordinate communication with all parties involved, from local authorities and residents to businesses and external partners. You ensure that everyone is well-informed about progress and facilitate smooth interactions between the project team and the environment. You know how to listen, communicate, and, above all, respond to the dynamics that come with large infrastructure projects. Additionally, you are responsible for developing and implementing environmental and communication plans. You anticipate potential concerns from the environment and provide adequate and proactive solutions. You guide meetings and consultations and always seek ways to create support among all stakeholders. You have a sharp eye for risks and opportunities in the environmental context and manage them effectively. Your contribution is essential to the successful progression of the project and maintaining a good relationship with the surrounding community.
What we expect from you
A completed higher professional education (HBO) or university degree (WO), preferably in the field of Spatial Planning, Environment, Engineering, or a similar study direction;
• At least 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within the infrastructure sector;

• Experience in drafting environmental and communication documents/plans;
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (such as environmental legislation, spatial and permitting procedures);
• A proactive and solution-oriented attitude, with attention to detail and large-scale projects;
• Experience in project management and working within a multidisciplinary team is a plus;
• Affinity with infrastructure and the impact of large projects on the living environment.
