About this vacancy

As a Pipeline Engineer, you are part of project teams responsible for laying (route) or relocating transport pipelines either onshore or offshore. Additionally, you design valve diagrams as part of modifications and new construction. This involves the entire process, from defining the scope to implementation and aftercare. It's not just about natural gas but also CO2, hot water, and hydrogen pipeline systems. In this role, you work closely with internal and external stakeholders. Within engineering, you are responsible for the design of the pipeline system. Moreover, as a technical expert, you contribute specialist expertise and often act as coordinating engineer for all relevant disciplines (E&I, HVAC, mechanical, etc.). When outsourcing detailed engineering to external parties, such as an engineering firm, you ensure their work complies with our (quality) standards.

What we expect from you

As a person, you are naturally a team player and accustomed to giving constructive feedback as well as receiving it. You quickly grasp the (complex) project processes at Gasunie, function as a fully-fledged engineer, and propose improvements wherever you see opportunities. You are communicatively skilled and always seek solutions in a collaborative and connective manner. People describe you as approachable and solution-oriented. Additionally, you possess: - At least a higher professional education (HBO) degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, along with a supplementary HBO specialization in pipelines being highly desirable; - At least 5 years of experience as a (pipeline) engineer in the design or construction of transport pipelines; - At least 5 years of experience as a contractor for construction companies and/or engineering firms; - Knowledge of the NEN 3650/3651 series, including relevant laws and regulations for the construction and management of transport pipelines, as well as strength-related technical aspects; - Knowledge of offshore (pipelines and cables) as well as installation techniques; - Knowledge of route/feasibility studies; - Proficiency in SAP PM, SAP MM, GIS drawing systems, material specifications for pipelines, fixtures, and valves suitable for various media including natural gas, hydrogen, CO₂, and heat systems.
