EMC Engineer - Space Sector

About this vacancy
The role will be involved in all activities related to electromagnetic compatibility at the system, subsystem, and equipment levels throughout the entire lifecycle of a space mission: from the initial design phase to integration, testing, and launch. Responsibilities: • Independently manage all activities related to ensuring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for systems, subsystems, and equipment. • Contribute to the design, analysis, evaluation, and/or simulation of issues related to EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and their corresponding mitigation strategies. • Support activities from the early design stage to final integration, verification testing, and the launch phase. • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation (specifications, control plans, test plans & reports, analyses). • Perform EMC troubleshooting in the laboratory for pre-compliance or compliance activities according to ECSS or MIL standards. • Assess test setups and support AIT/AIV activities with particular focus on EMC aspects. • Contribute to the evaluation of charging effects caused by the space environment.
What we expect from you
• Native Italian speaker (written and spoken), excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken). • Degree in Electronic Engineering. • At least 3 years of experience in the role or related disciplines. • Expertise in system-level EMC analysis, focusing on requirements and specifications (equipment design, unit testing, launcher compatibility, EGSE, etc.). • Experience in conducted and radiated EMI analysis. • Ability to draft and evaluate EMC verification documentation at equipment, subsystem, and system levels. • Full autonomy in using instrumentation for electrical and EMC testing (time and frequency domain, emission and susceptibility testing). • Familiarity with space standards (ECSS-E-ST-20-07C/-20-06C, MIL-STD-461G). • Experience with institutional programs in the space sector.
