About this vacancy
The role will be responsible for the entire Data Handling subsystem: from requirements definition to design, through to functional testing and mission operations support. The position involves interaction with the Satellite and Avionics teams throughout the development cycle and managing technical exchanges with suppliers.
What we expect from you
**Main Responsibilities** - Comprehensive design of the Data Handling subsystem for various missions and platforms - Analysis of subsystem specifications - Definition of the Data Handling architecture and data interfaces - Definition of data budgets and selection/configuration of data protocols - Drafting input specifications for Data Handling units - Participation in procurement: definition of Statements of Work, technical meetings, document reviews - Development support: Design & Development plans, technical coordination, document review, and planning support - Support for AIV/AIT activities - Support for tests at unit, subsystem, and system levels: definition of test specifications, test report review, and test participation - Support for operational definition and mission operational activities **Requirements:** - Native Italian speaker, fluent in English - Master's degree in Electronic/Mechatronic Engineering - 2–3 years of experience in the space/automotive industries - Knowledge of data interfaces: **CAN/CANopen, SpaceWire, SpaceFibre, HSSL, RS‑422** - Knowledge of main data protocols: **MIL‑1553, CCSDS Packet, CCSDS/ECSS TM/TC, PUS, CFDP** - Familiarity with ASW architectures for multicore OBC - Basic knowledge of key AOCS units (magnetometers, magnetotorquers, star trackers, reaction wheels, CMG, sun sensors) - Excellent organizational, communication, and technical writing skills
