About this vacancy
For a major public client working towards a safe, accessible, and livable Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Cost Specialist for large civil infrastructure projects.
You will become part of the cost specialist team within one or more project teams. You will assess contractor budgets, provide advice on costs and estimates, and develop cost products such as estimates, models, and business cases. Additionally, you will review cost products from external parties and contribute to knowledge development within the team. Where it adds value, you will participate in meetings of the client’s cost pool.
What will you be doing?- Developing cost products for decision moments
- Advising on project issues, tenders, changes, and cost control
- Assessing cost products from external parties
- Setting up, executing, evaluating, and adjusting cost products within the project, both in terms of content and process
- Collaborating with cost advisors, cost specialists, and cost analysts
- Participating in cost tables, procurement tables, and other consultative bodies
You will be managed by the head of the cost pool. On a daily basis, you will collaborate with the client’s cost advisor on the project and the integrated project management team (IPM) on-site.
What we expect from you
- At least 3-5 years of demonstrable knowledge and work experience as a cost specialist / cost engineer
- Relevant technical knowledge at HBO/WO level (higher vocational education/university level), for example a degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or at least 5 years of demonstrable work experience in the field
- Proficiency in the Dutch language
- Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with various contract types, such as two-phase contracts
