AI Engineer

About this vacancy

In the role of AI Engineer, you will collaborate directly with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand problems and processes, identify the most effective solutions, and support their entire lifecycle, from the discovery phase to deployment and production implementation.

Your goal will be to rapidly integrate AI technologies into existing ecosystems and applications, reusing components and building blocks when available. Alternatively, you will develop services, integrations, and customized AI agents when necessary.

In particular, you will:

• Analyze business needs and processes and translate them into production-ready AI solutions.
• Design and develop applications and services based on AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI, from prototyping to production.
• Integrate LLM and AI Agents with applications, APIs, data sources, and existing enterprise systems.
• Reuse and extend components and AI building blocks, developing custom integrations or components when necessary.
• Work across the technology stack, including backend, frontend, data/ML, and operations.
• Implement DevOps and MLOps practices, managing CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration.
• Ensure the security, reliability, scalability, testing, and observability of AI applications in production environments.
• Document developed solutions and contribute to the creation of reusable patterns and components to accelerate the development of new projects.

What we expect from you

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent disciplines, or comparable professional experience.
• Hands-on experience in software development and creating applications for production environments.
• Excellent knowledge of Python and familiarity with API development and integration.
• Practical knowledge of the modern AI/ML stack, including LLM, vector databases, and frameworks for building AI Agents.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker/containers, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with testing, monitoring, and observability of distributed applications.
• Attention to secure coding, security, and compliance aspects, particularly within enterprise contexts.
• Ability to work with different codebases, technologies, and application domains, quickly identifying problems and solutions.
• Pragmatic and delivery-oriented approach, with the ability to take a solution from prototype to production.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and technical documentation skills.
• Strong command of Italian and English languages.

What you can expect from us

The position includes a permanent employment contract and a Gross Annual Salary (RAL) of at least €37,000, in accordance with the National Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL) Commerce – Tertiary, Distribution, and Services.

TMC is committed to offering a competitive compensation package. At the end of the selection process, after evaluating the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, the company may propose a final RAL higher than the amount mentioned above.

In line with our business model, the final compensation package also includes:

• a component of profit sharing from the project;
• an individual annual budget for training and professional development worth €4,000 net;
• an annual welfare credit.
