About this vacancy
Position
We are looking for an Electronics Systems Engineer to support the development and maintenance of low-voltage vehicle control systems. The focus will be on all kinds of systems (e.g. smart air-supply control systems, electronic hydraulic systems for rear-wheel steering, electronically controlled air suspension, cab climate control, cabin switch modules, board chargers, etc.). This role enables high‑quality engineering support for both new developments and ongoing running business activities.
The department where you would start is responsible for the design, application, and development of electric, electronic, and mechatronic vehicle systems. Most development occurs in close cooperation with system suppliers. With increasing system complexity and the trend toward more detailed functional specifications, your team (the Systems team) specifically manages low-voltage vehicle systems where system suppliers hold the intellectual property.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Alignment & System Support
- Align system technical requirements, including:
- Diagnostic specifications
- Functional software behavior
- Provide software support for one or more systems
- Create and release parameter files within systems
Documentation & Coordination
- Write diagnostic documentation for internal stakeholders
- Drive the Systems Engineering team regarding electrical development features
- Collaborate with stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure alignment on project goals, requirements, and technical solutions
Progress Reporting & Issue Resolution
- Report development status and project progress to management on a regular basis.
- Support system releases and practical investigations, including:
- Root‑cause analysis and resolution of issues
- Hands‑on support on-site at the Research Centre, Service locations, or Manufacturing facilities
What we expect from you
The required qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field;
- Five years of industrial working experience in the automotive industry;
- Experience with automotive control systems;
- Hands‑on experience with CAN communication and diagnostic protocols;
- Proficiency with Vector CAN tools (e.g., CANalyzer, CANape);
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
- Collaborative mindset, able to work on-site and interact effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
