About this vacancy
Your Responsibilities
• Develop calibration algorithms based on physical modelling, system dynamics and statistical inference.
• Build mathematical models that describe system behaviour, sensitivities and noise mechanisms.
• Design and implement calibration workflows for sensors, actuators and subsystems.
• Create algorithms for parameter estimation, drift compensation and cross sensor alignment.
• Validate models and calibration strategies using simulations, lab experiments and real world datasets.
• Collaborate closely with experts in sensing, optics, controls, data science, system engineering and embedded software.
• Analyse calibration performance through sensitivity studies, robustness checks and uncertainty propagation.
• Explore and evaluate new calibration approaches as technology evolves.
• Clearly communicate architecture decisions and contribute to multidisciplinary design discussions.
What we expect from you
• MSc or PhD in Applied Physics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems & Control, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. • Strong theoretical foundation in at least one of the following:
o System identification & parameter estimation
o Multi sensor calibration and coordinate transformations
o Noise modelling and uncertainty quantification
o Dynamic systems & modelling o Bayesian inference or filtering
o Numerical optimisation and model fitting
• Experience applying physics based modelling to real world engineering challenges.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for algorithm development.
• Experience with simulation frameworks, data analysis, and model validation.
• Strong analytical mindset, good communication skills, and a collaborative spirit.
