DAF Trucks is seeking a skilled Axle Suspension Engineer to support within the Chassis domain. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, validation, and documentation of axle suspension components and systems. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and engineering leads to ensure high-quality technical deliverables across the entire development process.
What we expect from you
Engineering & Development - Translate load cases into part-level and system-level requirements. - Develop and maintain technical documentation, such as TRS, product specifications, and scorecards. - Create and review 2D and 3D CAD drawings using Siemens NX. - Participate in technical reviews and execution of DFMEA with internal stakeholders and suppliers. - Lead or support Safety Design Reviews. Supplier & Stakeholder Management - Align technical requirements with suppliers, including preparation and review of Supplier Sign-Off documentation. - Evaluate supplier deliverables with a critical, analytical approach. - Coordinate test plans (internal and supplier-based) and follow up on validation activities. System Scope The Axle Suspension system includes a wide range of components and manufacturing technologies, such as: - Castings, forgings, rods - Leaf springs, air springs - Bolted, riveted, welded and press-fit connections - Vulcanized rubber parts - Bearings and other structural components These components collectively determine the vehicle’s load carrying capacity, ride comfort, stability, handling, and safety performance.
What you can expect from us
- Strong knowledge of vehicle axle suspension, ride & handling. - Proven experience in axle suspension component development. - Proficiency with Siemens NX CAD software. - Ability to create and review detailed technical drawings. - Strong analytical skills and a sharp critical mindset. - Experience in supplier communication and requirement alignment. - Excellent command of the English language.
