Leestijd: min. With a new office in the city of Groningen, the north of the Netherlands now has a new ambitious, fast-growing, and unique company. With our employeneurship model, engineers can decide for which client they will work and share in the profits on their own project. The new office opened on January 4th. Next to Eindhoven, Delft, Utrecht and Enschede this is the fifth Dutch office. With this first office in the north, we can now realize full national coverage.
Energy and infrastructure
Michel Hoving and Tim Terpstra will lead the new business unit. Both have a background in technical consultancy and a large network in the region. "With the office in Groningen we actually cover the entire north, so Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe, Overijssel and a part of Flevoland," says Hoving. "Within this stable and growing market, both Tim and I have built up a large network.
Within the Energy and Infrastructure sectors, among others, we see plenty of opportunities in the North. Hoving: "Many companies in this region invest in renewables where sustainability is of great importance. Due to the growth within the energy transition, the demand for technical professionals remains high and the shortage on the labor market will only increase. TMC's employeneurship model with its talent development, business cells, full transparency and individual profit sharing, creates a sustainable working relationship and distinguishes us in the market. Our quality, flexibility and our broad portfolio are also a great advantage for companies".
In addition, TMC focuses on the high-tech industry, as well as the maritime sector and the food industry. Terpstra, in particular, has already gained a great deal of in-depth knowledge in these sectors. The Innovation cluster Drachten is a good example of collaborating companies in the north of the Netherlands with which TMC likes to join forces.
The best of both worlds
The ambitions for the Groningen office are high. In the first year, Hoving wants to grow with 18 new so-called employeneurs, and in the following years to grow into a cluster with at least 40 employees. He also just started at TMC. "I wanted to start my own business, but because of the corona situation I found it difficult to start something myself. TMC offered the best of both worlds, the certainty of a permanent job with the advantages of entrepreneurship. So, the choice was quickly made".
