About this vacancy

As an experienced Firmware Engineer, you will design and implement firmware for microcontroller-based systems using FreeRTOS and Zephyr. You’ll collaborate with hardware and software teams to bring products from concept to production, ensuring performance, stability, and scalability.

Your keys responsibilities will include:

Design, develop, testing and maintain embedded firmware for real-time applications.
Integrate and configure FreeRTOS and Zephyr on custom hardware platforms.
Work closely with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and peripherals.
Optimize code for performance, memory, and power efficiency.
Debug and troubleshoot firmware issues using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
Contribute to system architecture and mentor junior engineers.

What we expect from you

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development.
Deep knowledge of FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and real-time embedded systems.
Hands-on experience with MCUboot bootloader management for secure firmware updates
Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
Strong understanding of hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC, etc.).
Experience with debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD, and embedded testing frameworks.
Bonus: Experience with BLE, IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP), or secure bootloaders.
Fluency in English. Dutch or French is a plus
