As an Optical Engineer at TMC, you’ll be involved in designing, testing, and improving optical systems with a strong focus on hands-on execution. You’ll work directly in the lab, building and aligning optical setups, performing measurements, and translating design concepts into working prototypes. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues and clients in multidisciplinary teams to tackle technical challenges across various high-tech projects.

Your Responsibilities

• Set up and carry out experiments with optical components and systems.
• Align and characterize optical setups in the lab.
• Support the translation of theoretical designs into practical applications.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to integrate and test systems.
• Report measurement results and provide recommendations for improvements.

Wat we van jou verwachten

• A completed technical degree (BSc or MSc) in optics, physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience (internships or postdocs do not count).
• Experience with optical measurement techniques and lab work.
• Familiarity with optical design software such as Zemax, VirtualLab, or Oslo is a plus.
• Practical knowledge of optical components, lasers, lenses, mirrors, and sensors.
• A hands-on mindset, precision, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
