Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Expert with over 10 years of experience in data engineering, semantic technologies, and complex data integration. You will contribute to the evolution of internal applications by designing, extending, and optimizing tools that manage data stored in graph-based structures rather than traditional relational databases.

This position requires strong analytical thinking, deep technical expertise, and the autonomy to propose and implement robust architectural and technological solutions. You will be expected to work on both proof-of-concepts and the enhancement of production-ready tools while collaborating closely with developers, analysts, and technical leads.

Wat we van jou verwachten

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or software development involving semantic data, knowledge graphs, or complex data models.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; French is a plus.
• Advanced expertise in SPARQL is required.
• Solid background in Java, especially when working with graph databases (e.g., RDF, OWL, SHACL).
• Experience in creating or maintaining applications with graphDBs.
• Good to have: development experience with ElasticSearch.
• Capable of independently suggesting and implementing architecture or technology decisions.
• Ability to create PoCs and deliver adaptive development for internal tools (ETL flows, interfaces, etc.).
• Hands-on involvement in data presentation: designing filters, building UI integrations, or fetching/transforming the right data.
• Exposure to front-end logic or styling is a plus (not mandatory).
• Capable of managing multiple development environments and supporting CI/CD workflows.
