Mechanical Engineer – Driveline Installation

DAF Trucks is a leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles and part of PACCAR Inc., one of the largest truck producers in the world. Our development center in Eindhoven is where we design the trucks of the future – with a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and driver comfort.

As a Mechanical Engineer Driveline Installation, you will be part of the Product Development department. You are responsible for the integration and installation of driveline systems (engine, transmission, axles) into our vehicles. You will work on both conventional and alternative drivelines (such as battery electric and hydrogen-based systems).

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing driveline components and systems within the vehicle chassis.
• Ensuring proper packaging and system integration with other vehicle components.
• Analyzing and resolving technical issues during development and validation phases.
• Collaborating with internal departments including Testing, Electrification, Vehicle Integration, and Manufacturing.
• Creating technical documentation, 2D/3D drawings, and specifications.
• Supporting prototype builds and assisting the production team during implementation phases.

Was wir von Ihnen erwarten

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in driveline design or installation within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
• Solid understanding of vehicle dynamics, vibrations, thermodynamics, and structural safety.
• Experience with validation and testing procedures is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
• Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
