DAF Trucks is a leading manufacturer of innovative commercial vehicles and part of PACCAR Inc. Our state-of-the-art development center in Eindhoven is dedicated to designing reliable, efficient, and sustainable transport solutions with a strong focus on quality, performance, and future readiness.

As a Mechanical Engineer Engine Installation, you are responsible for the mechanical integration of internal combustion engines (ICE) or alternative power units into the vehicle chassis. This includes the design and layout of components such as engine mounts, cooling systems, air intake, exhaust, vibration damping, and all mechanical interfaces with systems like HVAC or the driveline.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop technical solutions for the physical installation of engines and related components.
• Perform packaging studies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Optimize component layout for performance, serviceability, safety, and production efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with requirements related to cooling, vibration, NVH, and thermal behavior.
• Create and manage technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.
• Work closely with teams such as engine development, vehicle integration, simulation, testing, and manufacturing.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in engine installation or vehicle system integration.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, preferably Siemens NX.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, thermodynamics, NVH, and vehicle architecture.
• Experience with diesel or alternative powertrains is a plus.
• Analytical thinking and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
