About this vacancy
The role will work in multidisciplinary teams (power electronics, software, system, testing) ensuring railway regulatory compliance and operational reliability. **Main Responsibilities** - Analysis of requirements and definition of control architecture. - Modeling and simulation of traction systems and converters (Simulink/Simscape). - Development of control algorithms and embedded software/firmware. - Implementation of EMI strategies and diagnostic functions for predictive maintenance. - Development and execution of SIL/HIL tests and validations on bench and onboard. - Support for commissioning, field testing, and service activities. - Preparation of documentation compliant with railway regulations and participation in Design Review.
What we expect from you
Requirements
- Degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
- Ph.D. in Automation Engineering (preferred).
- Control theory and real-time signal processing, including advanced vector control techniques (FOC, DTC).
- Model-Based Design with Simulink/Stateflow, Simscape, and autocode generation capabilities.
- Excellent command of C/C++, Python, and embedded Linux environment.
- Experience with RTOS and Eclipse-based toolchains.
- Low-level firmware development: MCU registers, drivers, interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, PWM, ADC).
- Knowledge of FPGA and development in VHDL.
- Expertise in power converters (DC/DC, AC/DC, inverters) and electric/hybrid propulsion systems (PMSM, asynchronous).
- Experience with HIL testing (dSPACE, Speedgoat, OPAL-RT).
- Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, MVB, and industrial protocols (J1939, TRDP, TCN).
- Knowledge of railway standards (EN 50128, EN 50657) and, as a plus, IEC 61508 and ISO 26262.
- Requirements management with IBM DOORS.
- Integration in CI/CD pipeline with full requirements-test traceability.
Fluent Italian.
Technical English (spoken and written).
