TMC is looking for a driven Environmental Science and Sustainability Consultant who wants to apply their expertise at leading consultancy and engineering firms or within the government.

As an Environmental Science and Sustainability Consultant at TMC, you will have the unique opportunity to work on diverse projects with renowned clients in the North Brabant region and Southern Netherlands. You will find yourself in an environment where innovation, sustainability, and personal development go hand in hand.

As an Environmental Science and Sustainability Consultant at TMC, you will make a significant contribution to sustainable projects within civil engineering. These can range from environmental impact assessments, climate adaptation projects, sustainable urban development, to energy projects and the greening of infrastructure. You will work closely with clients such as consultancy and engineering firms, municipalities, and provinces to implement sustainability within their projects.

Your responsibilities include:

Advising governments and companies on complying with environmental laws and regulations;
Drafting and assessing environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and other environmental studies;
Developing sustainable solutions and technologies within civil engineering projects;
Guiding sustainability audits and monitoring environmental performance;
Coordinating permitting processes and maintaining contact with stakeholders

What we expect from you

A completed Bachelor’s degree (HBO or WO) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Civil Engineering, or a similar field of study;
0–3 years of work experience in a relevant role within the environmental or sustainability sector;
Knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainable technologies, and experience in providing consultancy for projects with a civil engineering or sustainability focus;
Excellent communication skills: you can clearly and convincingly present complex environmental and sustainability issues to various stakeholders, from government entities to contractors;
An analytical and solution-oriented mindset: you are able to quickly address diverse issues and provide practical solutions;
Experience in guiding and supporting permit processes, environmental impact assessments, or sustainable energy projects is a plus;
A proactive and independent work attitude, yet you also enjoy working collaboratively within a team;
A category B driver’s license and willingness to travel within the South Netherlands region.
