About this vacancy

As a Pipeline Engineer, you are part of project teams responsible for laying (routes) or relocating transport pipelines, onshore or offshore. You also design valve diagrams for modifications and new constructions. This entails the entire process from determining the scope to realization and aftercare. It is not just about natural gas but also involves CO2, hot water, and hydrogen pipeline systems. In this role, you collaborate extensively with both internal and external stakeholders. Within engineering, you are responsible for the design of the pipeline system. Furthermore, as a technical expert, you are in charge of providing specialized technical input and often act as the coordinating engineer for all relevant fields (E&I, HVAC, WTB, etc.). When detailed engineering is outsourced to external parties, such as an engineering firm, you ensure their work meets our (quality) standards.

What we expect from you

As a person, you are naturally a team player and accustomed to providing feedback constructively, as well as receiving feedback. You are quick to understand the (complex) project processes at Gasunie, operate as a fully-fledged engineer, and propose improvements whenever you see opportunities. You are communicatively skilled and always strive to find solutions in a connecting way. People describe you as approachable and solution-oriented. In addition, you possess: - At least a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with an additional specialized bachelor's in pipelines being highly desirable. - At least 5 years of experience as a (pipeline) engineer in the design or installation of transport pipelines. - At least 5 years of experience as a client representing contractors and/or engineering firms. - Knowledge of the NEN 3650/3651 series, including relevant laws and regulations for the installation and management of transport pipelines, as well as the strength-related technical aspects. - Knowledge of offshore pipelines and cables, as well as installation techniques. - Knowledge of route/feasibility studies. - Knowledge of SAP PM, SAP MM, GIS drawing systems, material specifications for pipelines, fittings, and valves suitable for various media, including natural gas, hydrogen, CO₂, and heating systems.
